The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps (TVAC) was just awarded a Federal grant to assist us in purchasing a brand-new ambulance to replace our older 1989 ambulance, pictured above. Due to decreased donations and increased operating expenses related to COVID-19 this year, we need your help to raise the additional $125,000 in matching funds required by the grant to complete this purchase.
Below are the specification drawings for the new ambulance we are looking to purchase. You may have noticed our ambulances are bigger, what we call a Medium Duty Ambulance. These larger trucks allow us to carry more equipment, more crew members, and multiple patients. They are also safer for our volunteers - offering greater maneuverability, better braking, easier maintenance, and a better long-term value. That is why we were able to get 30 years of service from our 1989 ambulance, which is now ready to be retired.
Our membership, consisting of 100% volunteers, continue to answer your calls for help 24/7…as we have since 1939. We do this all FREE OF CHARGE and have never billed for our services. We rely on your 501(c) tax-deductible donations to cover our operational costs. Your generous donation will help us to raise enough funds to buy a new ambulance and continue to serve the community for many years to come.
